Minstrel is a one-off Alan Pape designed gaff cutter, 43ft from bowsprit end to boom end. She was built in Devon in 1991, strip-planked in Douglas fir, with double-diagonal plywood and glass-epoxy sheathing on 6 laminated iroko ring frames. With her first owners she visited the West Indies returning across the Atlantic after a winter in Maine, to become a floating home in Southwest Ireland. Under her present skipper, she has successfully cruised the English Channel and Brittany (north and south coasts). Her full keel and heavy displacement make her a sea-kindly cruising boat with a reputation for comfort. She had a complete professional interior refit in 2009.
Minstrel can accommodate up to 4 paying guests. The permanent crew consists of an experienced skipper (RYA Commercial Yachtmaster) and a cook/mate (if requested). Guests can participate as much or as little as desired.
